Can't move past first hour in RA audio file

Just installed SMPlayer 14.9.0 (svn r7051) (64-bit) on Windows 7.
Previous version (sorry, not sure which, but likely 14.9.0.6699-x64.exe install file) worked fine.
Now, using arrow and page up keys (or mouse roller) in a 2-hr ra file, I cannot locate past about 00:47:39 minutes before it wraps back to zero. I used to be able to go right up to the last second. Moreover, when I tried to go back to previous version, the problem now exists with that install also -- even though I did an uninstall/reset.
I sure hope there's a way to fix this; this program is the only one I have that can play RA files ... and I have a lot of them. (The actual RA program is too much like malware for me to let it on my system.)
