Just updated smplayer in linux and noticed it doesn't display the selected subtitle font for OSD (it shows a different generic font) but subtitles are displayed with correct font.

Toolbar buttons appear big after the update

Any option to change these

In order to simplify the subtitle code, now smplayer doesn't change the OSD font. You can use another one passing to mplayer the option -font (or --osd-font= for mpv). Example "-font Impact".

There's a new theme (H2O) with bigger icons, but the rest of themes have the normal icons. You can also change the icon size in the toolbar editor.

Thanks for your reply, this clarified and solved everything.

I have another question. SMplayer is unable to play HEVC files. I found latest VLC plays them so I added the ppa and downloaded it(software center only has old version), which works but is there a solution for SMplayer. I prefer SMplayer over other players.

Thanks.

In order to play HEVC videos you need to update mplayer or install mpv.

Thank you

I installed mpv and selected it in smplayer and this solved it. Now I don't have to change players anymore.
