Can we do something about KDE people messing with SMPlayer?

KDE for some incomprehensible reason replaces the nice SMPlayer icon with some monstrosity, and without my consent. See:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351840
Can we do something about this? Maybe changing the name of the icon in the next version of SMPlayer might help. I don't know what the heck is wrong with the KDE people, but they can't just replace well-known icons with some unrelated ones, just because they think "it looks better." It doesn't. And even if it did, you don't just go ahead and replace it. The icon is part of the application's identity, and recognizable by people. You don't mess with it.
