Issue with SMPlayer not remembering window position properly

Postby lahmbi56789 » Wed Dec 16, 2015 9:36 pm

I'm using a 1280*1024 display and mostly playing vids with 1280*720 resolution. I configured SMPlayer to remember window position. I want SMPlayer to be aligned to the left upper corner, that means that SMplayer's left upper corner is always in the left upper corner of the display. To achieve this I ran a smaller video with a resolution like 720*576 and moved the Smplayer window (its left upper corner) to the left upper corner of the dsiplay. This worked very well until latest release.

Now when I start a 1280*720 video, SMplayer is vertically centered (while horizontally the whole screen is covered, of course), which means that you see the desktop above and below SMplayer window, which is imo annoying, I'd like it vertically to be aligned to the top. I can temporally fix this issue by moving the window to upper left corner, but after running another e.g. 1920*1080 video (bigger than my display), the 1280*720 video will again be vertically centered, which is incredibly anoying. This didn't happen with the release before.

I think this is related to the same complaint in this post:

Hi rvm,

It's probably the same issue. I'm looking forward to the next release. I'd like to thank you for your effort, SMPlayer has been my favourite player for years.

kind regards,
