Stop after finished playing

When i used windows i mainly used media player classic and used the "next" and "previous" keys to navigate and play the media files in their folders. in smplayer i can get a similar effect by automatically adding the folder to the playlist. but i don't want it to play to the end of the playlist only to the end of the file until i click the next button.

Is there any way to configure smplayer to stop or pause at the end of a file. or alternatively is there anyway to play the next (or previous) file in the folder without adding them to the playlist?
