Try the option "pass short filenames (8+3) to mplayer/mpv" in preferences -> advanced.

Sorry my bad. The option is only for Windows. I didn't know this problem can also happen on linux.

Can you play the file directly with mpv?

Could you send the smplayer log after trying to play the file? I'd like to see where the filename gets lost.

That's the mpv log.

Options -> View logs -> smplayer.

If you open the file using the menu Open -> File, does it play?
