I'm upgrading again since your useful environmental variable fix, but now Seeking using the Control Bar appears to be broken in the latest update to 16.4.0.7855. When I reverted back to 16.4.0.7831, Seeking works fine. Something to check...

I can't reproduce it.

Does the slider show disabled or something?

No, the slider doesn't appear to be disabled, but no matter where you click on it, the position in the video doesn't change. It works fine in 16.4.0.7831. Very odd.

Does it happen with all videos?
Could you send the mplayer log?

The video that it happened on is an MKV file. After trying to work with it for a while, I just downgraded to 16.4.0.7831 and the slider worked fine. But now today I just upgraded again to 16.4.0.7855 to look at the log file, but the slider is working on that video now! Maybe reinstalling did something? Weird.

Anyway, seeking is okay at the moment!

Thanks...

Well, there is definitely something going with 16.4.0.7855, I just don't know what. After I posted my previous message, I continued to test on various videos. Then suddenly the seeking wasn't working again. And then in another video the seeking worked, but each time the step to the next position happened, the video went into pause mode, though I had not hit pause. Anyway, I have again downgraded to 16.4.0.7831, and it seems fine and stable. Just FYI...

Edit: I see what was happening when hitting seek caused the video to pause: apparently, when using fullscreen mode and the floating control bar, hitting seek pauses the video because the left-click "passes through" the control bar to the video, and left-clicking on the video pauses it. So that's not a problem with r7855 (although I'm not sure that's the way it should work).

Are you using the 32-bit or the 64-bit version? Are you using mpv or mplayer?

The weird thing is that I haven't modified anything regarding the control bar or seeking between 7831 and 7855. Also both versions use the same version of Qt (5.6) and include the same versions of mpv and mplayer.

I can reproduce the problem with the left click pausing the video. I'll try to fix it.

In the latest builds there's the new option "auto" for cache, in preferences, performance, cache. Try to turn it off.

However I think this option was already available in version 7831.

I'm using the 32-bit version of SMPlayer, with MPV as the engine. The Auto option is available in r7831, but I haven't been using it. You think using it in r7855 might fix the seeking problem? If so, I'll re-install r7855 later this evening and give it a try...

If the auto option works fine in 7831 I don't think in 7855 it would make a difference.

In preferences -> interface -> seeking, what seeking method are you using, absolute or relative? Is the precise seeking enabled?
