Mistery: HUGE subtitles font - non-configurable

About two weeks ago, after downloading a movie subtitle (English and Portuguese BR) from OpenSubtitles, this happened:
- Chinese subtitles (!?!?!?), no matter how I forced to load EN or BR's SRT files
- when the BR subtitles finally loaded, wrong encoding
- when I managed to correct it:
From Now on, the STs are always displayed in this HUGE font (Image: SMPlayer_SubTit01.jpg)
And the Options > Preference > Subtitles > Font and Colors are useless. Nothing changes this HUGE font (Font and Size). See below: it is configurated to Bookman Old Style size 4
Obs.: Disabling 'Use custon style' also makes no difference.
I uninstalled and reinstalled SMP twice at no avail. Wondering if I must also delete some INI files
I also noticed several non-European fonts listed at 'Font' (but I am unable to pinpoint if they were installed or not before that)
Win 7 Home Premium 64bits, SMP 16.4.0 (64 bits)
This problem is happening only in this affected laptop, forcing me to use VLC (plays with no problem, the same videos and STs). My desktop and lapto/tablet are not affected, even when playing the original movie and ST's files that apparently caused the issue.
Suggestions?
