Does it work with mplayer or mpv?

mplayer2 is not developed anymore and if there's a bug with the screensaver isn't going to be fixed.

You're right! It is a bug from mplayer2.
Do you think in future releases the seekbar will move while on pause? That is the only reason while I'm stuck with mplayer2

I installed last version (r7969 with qt4) and it seems that even with mplayer2 the power management is not turning off the screen anymore.
