It seems if i maximize the SMPlayer window and then switch between playing a audio file and a video file that the window does not always look right. But then loading another video might make it look right again.

I can't reproduce this problem in my computer. Anyway, does this still happen if you check the option "repaint the background of the video windows" in preferences -> advanced?

Yeah happens with the repaint on also.

Using SMPlayer 16.6.0 + Qt 5.3.2

I think it's fixed in svn.

It says "I think it's fixed in svn r8036." but how do i know r number my SMPlayer is?
I just see a version like 14.9.0~ds0-1.

The development versions show the svn number in the about dialog. The "stable" version do not, but it's possible to know the version when using the option to check for updates.

Maybe more logical to add the r number under about.

I have 16.8.0.8066 and still have the problem.

If i open SMPlayer and maximize it, then close it, then double click a audio file to open it in SMPlayer it open SMPlayer maximized, but the controls only take up half the width and are locationed near the top of the window, sometimes i can see the control in full width at the bottom but nothing happens when click it.
Then if i close SMPlayer and double click a audio file again now SMPlayer opens not maximized but half the screen width so the controls just fits inside the window.

I've just tested on ubuntu 16.4 and Fedora 22 (both using Qt 5.5.1) with SMPlayer 16.8. I cannot reproduce the problem.

I use:
Version: 16.8.0
Med Qt 5.3.2 (kompileret med Qt 5.3.2)
Med MPlayer2 UNKNOWN

So maybe its the Qt version that gives the difference.

If you use Ubuntu you can try the packages compiled with Qt 4:
