Make shortcut from browser to smplayer

I'm new and I very love this player. With SMplayer + youtube-dl I can see any videos from VK, youtube and twitch just by copying url. But I have question — can I launch SMplayer with needed video from browser?
For example PotPlayer (windows only) makes own protocol in Windows OS "potplayer://", so in that way I can open any video from browser in one click (example "potplayer://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaA_cs4WZHM").
I would be happy to have same option in SMplayer on linux.
