Some mp4 videos too bright

I recently downloaded some videos all from the same site. Most (not all) of the videos from that site play way too bright as if overexposed. Windows Media Player 12 plays them back at the correct brightness. SMPlayer plays videos from other sites at correct brightness.

Any idea what is different in SMPlayer settings vs. WMP12 settings. What should I change in SMPlayer to fix brightness on theses .mp4 files without messing up all others - as WMP12 seems able to do.

Windows 10
AMD Radeon Video Card
SMPlayer 16.4.0 (64bit)

Thanks.

I don't know. Could you provide a link to one of those videos?

I fixed the problem by totally uninstalling then deleting .smplayer directory then reinstalling newest version. I suspect I reconfigured something in the past which was sticking around in the .smplayer directory.
