Can Aspect Ratio be set to fit the video source? [Solved]

I have been trying to see if there is a way to do this. Depending on the video I open, I will have to set the ratio to suit the video size. But is there a way to set the player to auto detect this?

Video -> Aspect ratio -> Auto.

It already is set as auto by default. My videos work with the 2.35:1 ratio but then there are some that require 16:9 ratio. The ones that work as 16:9 work automatically. While the other ones need to be set manually for 2.35:1.

If the auto option doesn't work that probably means that the video doesn't have aspect ratio information or it's wrong.

Okay, so here is what I worked out. I need 4:3 to display as 16:9 to full the screen. Then I also need 16:9 to display as 2.35:1 so that it is proportionate. Is there a way to set this as the command for when each file is opened under the advanced function?

If most of the videos are shown with an incorrect aspect ratio, maybe then you need to adjust the aspect ratio of your monitor in preferences -> advanced.

OMG! Over one little thing. I just had to change the aspect ratio of the screen to 4:3 and now all my videos fit proportionately! Thanks for the idea. :)
