Smplayer hanging on close/exit

I'm using Windows7-64, with the latest smplayer-64.
If I'm playing any video, smplayer hangs on close. Sometimes it hangs for up to a minute.
Once in a while, I have to kill it in task manager, in order to close it.
This has been happening through all versions, and I just thought I'd finally ask about this.
Been using smplayer for years.
