SMPlayer gets outside the screen

Using Windows 10, 64-bit, Portable edition
On version 16.7 the SMPlayer window does not get outside the top and left margins of the screen except if dragged by the title bar. The left border is a bit off, leaving a slit between the window and the edge. On version 16.8, with the same settings the player window can be moved anywhere regardless of whether it crosses the margins or not. This persists in version 16.9.

Someone reported as a bug the impossibility to move the window outside of the screen so this was actually a fix.

I thought that this was the function of "Prevent window to get outside of screen" option. I like SMPlayer to be always positioned at the top-left corner so I guess I will stick with 16.7 for the time being. On a different note, I am using the Portable Edition because the installer version places the settings directly in the user folder when the AppData folder is right there and every other program uses it. Can that be changed?

Thank you for your quick support and for making a player which finally made me move off VLC. In my case, simply copying the smplayer.ini file to the smplayer-portable folder made both 16.7 and 16.8 have the same configuration. However, it did not look the same on 16.9 (compare with video):
