Minor UI issues / questions

Not sure if some of these are bugs or "just the way it works." Some could probably be fixed.
In SMP 16.11.8242 portable 32 bit, running in Vista x64.
1) Screen captures of paused vids don't save file to specified path until video is restarted.
One drawback is, if you want to view the shot before resume Play. If you take a shot, need to view it & decide you need shots of the next frame or 2, you'll likely have to start over to get near the same point. Hitting play / stop (or tap space bar twice) will take you way past the previous point.
2) Screen capture format output is always .png, regardless of selected format.
3) The backward frame step doesn't work. Sometimes doesn't move at all; others, it takes 15+ seconds to back up one frame. I doubt it's my system.
Tried the default kybd shortcut (comma); changed the shortcut; added the option to control bar. None work. Forward frame step works OK.
4) Preferences UI - "Apply" button: When you make pref changes, the Apply button doesn't change appearance to show changes were made.
*After* clicking Apply, the button border becomes colored. The behavior should be reverse. When changes are made, the button should be colored or bolded in some way. After you apply changes, it should be grayed out again. In most apps, the apply button is dimmed until changes are made and dimmed again after clicking apply. I tried it with a few interface selections, including default. All behaved the same.
5) Setting starting volume to zero. There should be a preference to have all videos' audio level start @ 0, without editing smplayer.ini. Seems older versions had a pref to set starting volume to desired level - or zero? Am I wrong?
v16.11 has the Global Volume pref. I think it's only used if "Remember settings for all files..." is checked - correct? If users don't want to remember all settings, then there's an issue.
If Global volume is checked, the next vid uses the last volume when last vid was closed (I think). But if you set the volume slider to 0, the next vid starts at the level specified in smplayer.ini, in "Defaults" section: initial_volume=40 (default value).
When you DON'T want to remember all settings for all files, the only way I see to have every vid start with 0 volume is to alter the smplayer.ini setting to "initial_volume=0."
With default ini setting of initial_volume=40, if you close a vid, with volume at 52%, the next vid will start at 52%, whether Global volume is enabled or not.
If you set volume to 0 before closing a vid, the next one opens at the level in "initial_volume=40."
