Could anyone explain the reason of the following statement which appears when attempting to playback:
'MPlayer failed to start. Please check the Mplayer/mpv path in preferences'
I have tried on several computers already, but the output was always the same.
Surprisingly the corresponding portable 64-bit version works fine.

It works for me fine. Try to download the package again, maybe it got corrupted.

Another attempt from different server led me to the problem solution. Thank you!

Regrettably I need to make the amendment. In fact the pertinent version works fine on Windows 8 or Windows Vista, but not on Windows XP.

On Windows XP you need to select mplayer as multimedia engine (preferences -> general) since mpv doesn't support Windows XP anymore.
