SMPlayer Support Forum

I'm new to SMPlayer so I thought I'd just ask here as i can't seem to work it out myself. I'm running SMPlayer on XP.

I guess the $2 question is, should mpv work on XP? I'm wanting to enable hardware acceleration, which the tooltip tells me only works for mpv, so it naturally follows I can't get mpv to work.

When it's selected and I try to open a video, SMPlayer offers an error message about not being able to find mpv.exe. I've tried selecting "other" and pointing SMPlayer to the location of mpv.exe that way, but it didn't help. Am I missing something?

I'm afraid recent versions of mpv don't have support for Windows XP.

I suspected that might be the case.
