Where get temporary files stored?

Hi there,
second question
It is great to see, that timeshifting works so well with DVB-C and SMPlayer, in contrast to that other popular player
I just wonder, when using timeshift, where do get the temporary files stored on the harddrive?
I even used lsof to find out, but I do not see, where SMPlayer / mpv stores the timeshift files....
Software:
Linux kernel 4.13
SMPLayer 17.11.0
mpv 0.25.0
