It seems youtube playback stopped working in the stable version.
I think I managed to fix it, but you need now at least svn r4410 of both smplayer and smtube.

I already said, you have to modify retrievevideourl.cpp and then recompile umplayer.

I was redirected here from the topic I opened ().
I am just an average Linux user (Fedora) and I did not understand how to fix the problem. I install and update my SMPlayer via terminal command 'yum' from Fedora's software repository. Does this answer mean that there is an error in SMPlayer code and that I should only wait until the fixed version appears in my repo, or there is something I could do now?

Youtube changed something and smplayer couldn't play youtube videos anymore. I made a few changes in the smplayer (and smtube) code and now it can play youtube videos again.
The fix will be in next version 0.8.1. If you can't wait you have to download the code from svn and compile it.
Windows users can find packages here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/smplay ... /Unstable/
