The new experimental seeking method introduced in r3417 is much less accurate than the old one.

Many times after successive dragging of the slider, when the mouse button is released, after about the second, the slider jumps to another relatively close position, compensating (correcting) the error in its position.

I think you should revert back to the old seeking method which was far more accurate.
