How about a new release?

At least the installer should install a more recent mplayer version by default. I know, it isn't hard to get a current Mplayer package from
http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php and drop the new files over the old mplayer folder in SMPlayer directory, but that should be done automatically, and maybe some kind of list of "stable" Mplayer packages would be useful. I'm currently using r33883, and it seems to be working well, though I didn't really do many tests.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/smplaye ... /Unstable/

Maybe it is time to tag a new release though.

Excellent question lahmbi56789, and thanks for the link redxii. I was going to ask for a up to date release since I was having problems playing a certain video file with the portable smplayer release currently tagged. Problem solved with the current unstable release.

Yet, I'm curious as to the future of smplayer. There hasn't been a major update since I discovered smplayer about a year ago (and became my favorite media player since then). Not complaining or anything. Just wondering if smplayer is under active development and whether we can expect to see a version 1.0 one day. Sorry if this question has been answered in some other thread, but skimming through the forum I couldn't find any information regarding this.

I just love SMPlayer more than ever ( Play youtube video in beta feature is sooo great. Thanx. )

For me there are just two things i would like to see in SMPlyaer
- Possibility to turn off font directory scan after i install some new font. Very annonying, since i do this very often:)
- Move backward/forward by frame ( but since new MPlayer has this feature, this sounds very doable. Doesnt it:)? )

Thank you again, for great work!
