This is a quick and dirty build of the latest mplayer2/libav for windows, and looking for some feedback.
Known Issues:
- Huge OSD font (due to them using new rendering using libass) - fixed
- No DVD support - fixed
- No direct3d_shaders - irrelevant for now
Download:
http://code.google.com/p/mplayer2-for-w ... loads/list32-bit: *x86
64-bit: *x86_64
If unsure that you're running a 64-bit OS, use 32-bit.

First time i use it, i got the -nofontconfig error ( only the first time).
Maybe it's just me, the audio is weaker (with the latest mplayer build it's stronger).
And of course, the huge osd font.

Hello redxii,
Thanks for uploading mplayer2-beta, it runs fine here on my desktop.
Windows XP-home SP3 (32-bit)
smplayer-0.8.2.4882-win32
mplayer2-beta2
Some minor issues:
Switching from MPlayer(1) to MPlayer2-beta while playing a file makes Mplayer2-beta finish unexpectedly; -fontconfig error.
Double clicking the Playlist item quickly restarts Mplayer2-beta fine.
The Video De-interlaces Lowpass5 and Linear Blend make Mplayer2-beta finish unexpectedly;
Lowpass5: -vf-add pp=l5 _ Option vf-add: pp doesn't exist. Error parsing commandline option "-vf-add"
Linear Blend: -vf-add pp=lb _ Option vf-add: pp doesn't exist. Error parsing commandline option "-vf-add"

The post-processing filter (pp) doesn't exist in mplayer2 so you'll have to disable it. It is disabled by default in SMPlayer now but if you enabled it per file it'll still remember it for those files. Disable postprocessing and go to help - open configuration folder and delete "file_settings" and it will reset settings for all files.

Thanks for your reply redxii,
Didn't know mplayer2 does not support the post-processing filter.
This post-processing filter is already disabled, but seems to be activated when choosing from the menu: Video > Deinterlace > Lowpass5 or Linear Blend.

direct3d is apparently direct3d_shaders just that lachs0r separated them in his build. If it is just really necessary I might make that change..

New build beta4, DVD playback and OSD seems fixed.
I had to switch to a different compiler and recompile everything from scratch since I was advised against using the same compiler as I do for MPlayer (it is hopelessly outdated), so I hope it still works well..

tried beta4
osd font is still huge
for subtitles i use Arial and what i'm seeing is definitely not Arial
the rewind bar that was in the middle of the screen is also gone ( i can't find it)
the dvd playback
if i try read dvd from dvdrom, smplayer closes
so i tried read dvd from file
this option works fine
and just like beta3 the audio is weaker
i'm using volume normalization and in mplayer the audio is stronger

Hello redxii,
MPlayer2-beta4 basically runs fine.
The OSD timer (Options > OSD > Volume + Seek +Timer) is about 3 times larger compared to MPlayer(1).
The previous seek bar now only shows as a % when OSD timer is chosen.
The video equalizer only shows a OSD (a number) while on full-screen.
