Missing Icons in SMPlayer

I don't know if this is the place to ask this, but my problem is related to kde, I think at least...

So last week I installed kde on a new system, everything went great and it runs nicely, but I encountered a little problem. I tried to setup smplayer with my favorite icons, but only the built-in icons (default and classic) show up in the preferences. As far as I can remember, smplayer automatically included the icons I have installed through kde in it's selection on my previous system, so that you only had to choose it and it would use it accordingly. However, on the new system the selection never changes, no matter which icon theme I install.

Has anyone ever encountered this before? If so, can you put me into the right direction/ tell me how to fix this? Thank you to all of the people here trying to help out!
