I am on WIN 7 64bit. I've downloaded SMPlayer but very disappointed as I am completely unable to get any sound output at all. I have tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions and also every sound setting in the preferences. No go.
I have several other video/audio players installed and they all work perfectly OK. I do not have sound problems with any other device.
Any help will be appreciated as I am impressed with the player providing I can get the sound to work!

Please, send the mplayer log (options -> view logs) after trying to play a file.

It seems you're using the option "AC3/DTS pass-through S/PDIF". Does it work if you disable that option?

Is that the only file you tried playing?

You can also try resetting smplayer settings, from the Help menu "Open configuration folder". Close smplayer and delete smplayer.ini, styles.ass and the file_settings folder if it exists.
