-nofontconfig mplayer2 option prevented files playing

Vista x64. Extracted portable SMP 0.8.5 x64 & deleted MPlayer - replaced it w/ latest mplayer2 x64 build off SMPlayer SF download site.
Pointed SMP to new mp2 location.

Wouldn't play any files. Noticed an error in log about "unknown mplayer option "-nofontconfig."

Looked in Prefs > mplayer options & saw the option mentioned was there. Looked at an earlier SMP version w/ mplayer2 & saw no options for mp2 (blank). So, deleted -nofontconfig from options & files now play fine. What was the purpose of putting it under mplayer options?

BTW, the search function on this forum is... < stellar. When typed in -nofontconfig, it said search term was too short or too common. Too common?

This is still a problem when using mplayer2 w/ smplayer.
Give error "Unknown option on the command line: --nofontconfig," - & won't play any files.

Once I remove " -nofontconfig" from Prefs > Options for MPlayer (when using mplayer2), plays vids OK.
Every recent SMPlayer version I try & use mplayer2, must remove that option in prefs, before it'll play vids.

That option being present in (when using mplayer vs mplayer2) doesn't cause problems.

Well, fontconfig flags were removed from mplayer2 quite some time ago (~2012-11-03 for mplayer2-build) so it's only natural that they are giving errors.

Thanks. I'm not quite that technical, so I'll take your word. If so, then seems the -nofontconfig option needs to be "automatically" removed, once mplayer2 replaces mplayer & SMP is restarted / recognizes mplayer2 is present (after the path to it has been changed). But, it doesn't remove that option.

I've not tried the packages containing mplayer2 - for a good while. So, don't know if that option is removed in SMP, when packaged w/ mplayer2.
