was system down/no you tube update

was system down
i noticed 2 things
1 UPDATE YOU TUBE CODE was failing to connect
2 this forum wasnt loading/timing out
now both seem to be ok.

anyway w latest version whats UPDATE YOU TUBE CODE do?
is it a manual way to update the you tube format coding?
when you tube changes something, clicking it updates it with out updating software?
it seems every day SMP is updating more more fixes?

Maybe the server was down for awhile.

The "update youtube code" option connects to the smplayer site and downloads the function to decrypt the youtube signatures. Youtube changes very often the signatures so it's necessary to keep updated that function.

nice should i run a check daily?
or is it automatic
reminds me of Grooveshark
they change coding, so software also had a update software as well as update code

Actually smplayer should detect when youtube changes the signature and will ask to update the code.

The option in the Help menu is there just in case smplayer fails to detect the signature change, so there's a way to force the update.
