Postprocessing on different video sizes

Postby inutilinutil » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:27 pm

I like SMPlayer a lot, it's a great front end. I use it on Linux with VDPAU to play 720p and 1080p video files.

But sometimes I also play SD resolution, lower quality files. I'd like to request a feature: conditional postprocessing enable or disable, by video width.

For example, if the video file is more than 1000 pixels wide, then automatically turn off postprocessing. If it has 1000 or less pixels, automatically turn on postprocessing. Kind of like the way we can already automatically skip the Loop filter on wider files.

I ask this because if I always enable postprocessing by default, HD and Full HD files skip frames while playing, and if I disable postprocessing by default, I have to turn it on manually everytime I watch a lower resolution file.

Thank you and keep up the good work!
