- I sometimes use smplayer with my headphones, and sometimes with the laptop's speakers. When I use the laptop's speakers I have the volume up much higher
- I have smplayer set up to "remember settings for all files"
- I watch many videos in chunks, so I use "remember settings for all files" to continue where I left off.
Since I have the settings saved (to continue where I left off), the volume is saved as well. This means that sometimes I put the headphones in and play the video resuming from where I left off, and because the volume is set way up, I hurt my ears.
I'd like to set a default volume for the video to start in, so that I won't hurt my ears. I don't mind having to raise the volume manually once the video resumes playing, if necessary.
I found the mplayer option, "-volume" and set it to 25 in the Advanced options for mplayer. It seems to work for a second (playing at the lower volume), but the video quickly goes back to the louder volume I had it on the last time I was playing it. I think this is because the "remember settings for all files" overrides the default mplayer volume, set in the advanced options.
Is there a way to set the startup volume in smplayer, while still remembering settings for all files?
