Newbie here
I discovered SMPlayer on Linux but now recommend it to everyone as the very best Windows mediaplayer around. There is only one issue I have found with it:
My main computer is an oldish HP laptop running Windows XP, hooked up to a 20" Samsung monitor. Videos run fine on the laptop, but as soon as I try to use fullscreen on the external monitor, the video slows down and the audio very quickly runs out of sync.
VLC and Mplayer Classic, on the other hand, run everything I throw at them with no issues.
This is puzzling to me, because there is another laptop in the house, a slightly newer Toshiba running Win 7, on which I also use SMPlayer, and there is no problem with outputting to an extended desktop.
I've tried various versions of SMPlayer (currently trying the portable version that works on the the Toshiba) and output drivers (including Direct3D, which is what works on the other laptop), but I can't seem to get video to run at normal speed on the external monitor.
Any ideas/suggestions to solve this issue are most welcome!
