Can SMPlayer handle file association just like foobar2000?

.I use foobar2000 and SMPlayer for audio and video play.I and my friend is using win7 64 bit.I suggest and copy foobar2000 and SMPlayer to my friend's Portable Hard Disk,but only foobar2000 file association works,SMPlayer doesn't not appear at set default program.Is this function possible?

I think is a nesscery function for vista/win7 user.

The installer creates those already. There is a portable version, it doesn't have file associations, but the point of portable is to not write to the system registry or anywhere outside where the program is.
