What settings for getting DTS HD audio through my stereo?

Hello,

I am going to be getting a brand new laptop with a ATI Radeon 5650 and was wondering what setting I will need to put in SMplayer in in order to be able to view a MKV file with 720P video with DTS HD audio though my Denon stereo and HDTV?

It will be hooked up using HDMI 1.3.

This can be done correct?

What I am really trying to find out is is there a way to play a MKV file that has HD audio with SMPlayer and have it come out of my home theater system in full HD sound?

either with TrueHD/DTS-HD Bitstreaming or LPCM?

AC3/DTS pass-through S/PDIF(General→Audio) should work if your hardware is properly set up
