I asked for an option to use the Linux stock version which in Arch Linux is always up-to-date. I'd rather have that option just to avoid cluttering my disk with duplications. However you get the idea here, it could work fine for Debian and other slow distros. So a choice of stock distro version or local private app copy would do.

Hello,
With SMTube, since around 2 weeks, I have to click many times on some videos to be able to stream them.
Strangely, downloading them works avery time.

The same problem occurs with the AmigaOS4 v14.7_svn6304 and the Windows v2.1.

At least 2 more AmigaOS4 users encounters the same problem.

Is somebody have the same problem ?

EDIT : according to the RetrieveYoutubeUrl::gotVideoInfoResponse(), when it fails it's because of an error Status 301. Any ideas ?

Youtube has made changes. You need to update smtube to the last version in svn.

Yes, I did it with the svn 6307.

On Windows, it seems to be OK now.
But on AmigaOS, I still have the problem.

Could it be because AmigaOS uses "HCPLAYER_DIRECTPLAY false" ?

It was my user_agent that was not empty.

Hello,
is SMTube can stream 1080p videos ?

I tried some 1080p videos ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31TNARtut0s for example) both under Windows and AmigaOS4 with the latest 14.7 svn6307.

The download is OK, it downloads 2 files and the movie is well in 1080p

But, when streamed, it seems to be in 720p.

Is it normal ?

For 1080p youtube uses a different format (DASH) where audio and video are split in two streams. MPlayer doesn't support this stream correctly (it can play it but there are problems when seeking) so for the moment smtube doesn't use this format for streaming.
