Won't seem to load and play properly

Postby Turtle » Mon Jul 07, 2014 8:36 pm

I'm using: Version: 14.3.0 (svn r6229) (32-bit)
Using Qt 4.8.4 (compiled with Qt 4.8.4)
Using MPlayer SVN r36621

Windows 8.1 64 Bit

I loaded about 70 dvd's in ISO format using WinX. Then played same immediately - loaded, jumped to middle, then to ending credits. Only ten didn't work properly and were deleted and set aside. Typical issues were no audio, wrong language which couldn't be fixed by the DVD menu or SMPlayer, or the audio track was the director chatting. The latter couldn't be changed either.

Later the bad ones either self corrected or I was able to reload them as MP4 files and they work but without the DVD menu - even though this option is checked in the Drive preference.

But the big problem seems to be that over half of the previously working DVD's now come up with a black screen and with if the cursor is dragged to the bottom a white block appears across most of the bottom over the time indicator.

Also, after reloading some of the previously working DVD's as ISO files and attempting to play them, the result was a totally different DVD being played. I consecutively attempted to play the same ISO file four times and got four different DVD's on screen.

I'm confused!

I've had issues as well sometimes with the wrong language or the director's commentary audio being played. Usually selecting the another audio track then selecting the English track fixes it, but this doesn't seem to have happened recently in spite of the movies I've been playing having multiple language tracks. You can try the latest release that has newer DVD libraries: http://sourceforge.net/projects/smplaye ... -unstable/

DVD menus can be notoriously unstable or not work on some DVDs, but other than that I haven't experienced any other issues playing movies from start to finish.
