Unable to open the file when its path name has Japanese

I recently upgraded the SMPlayer to the latest one, ver.14.9.0. and found out that if the file path or directly is including Japanese language, SMPlayer does not recognize the path and unable to open the file.
There was no such problem happened when I was using ver. 0.8.4. or earlier ver.

For instance, I have some movie files in a holder with Japanese name, SMPlayer can not open the file, but if I change the name of the holder in English, then it will open without any problem.

I have checked this problem happens in both 32bit and 64bit version.
I'm running this under Windows7 Ultimate 64bit Japanese.

Is the folder name "D:/DVD�t�@�C��/�f��/"? It's a weird name.

The DVD doesn't play because smplayer can't find a folder with that name.

Are you able to play other files (non-DVD like avi, mkv, etc) with Japanese in the file or folder names?

I can replicate that with Japanese in the file path/name doesn't work for DVDs, but it should work for other files. I think the DVD libraries simply don't support it.

yeah, you are right.
This happens on only DVD iso file, but not happen on MP4, flv, or wmv.

But this sounds very weird to me. There was no problem like this before upgrade to current ver.

You said you were using previously version 0.8.4. Could you test other versions (14.3, 0.8.6...) to see when this problem first started?

Sorry, I did one mistake. My previously installed ver. of SMPlayer was 0.8.3, not 0.8.4.

Anyway, I have checked from which version of SMPlayer has this problem
and found this happens from Ver.0.8.4. both 32bit and 64bit.
It was OK until Ver.0.8.3.
