Volume: speech low, effects high

Hi, always when I play movies or series the speech volume is low and the effects are high volume, I know this doesn't have anything to do with smplayer, but is there something I can do in smplayer so that I don't have to raise the volume when someone is talking, and lower it when something happens, getting irritating....

Hi. I'm surprised that nobody has given you an answer yet.

If you go into options > preferences. Click on general at the left and then the audio tab at the top.
Tick the "Volume normalization by default" option. Volume normalization should solve your problem.

Please tell me how effective it is. I would also like to know.
I know that when using it with VLC, the audio would be loud for a second and then would turn down.
I haven't noticed this with smplayer, but I haven't been watching anything where the sound would go up on effects.
I also hate having to turn the sound down on my PC. Especially when watching a movie at night.

maybe the sound is 5.1 chanel but your speaker doesnt support it....
i also have the same problem when tried to play bdrip of higashi no eden with 5.1 flac sound codec, there are some missing sound and it's really annoying...
