Exit code 1

Postby gordon99 » Wed Apr 22, 2015 8:59 pm

I have installed SMPlayer in Windows 7 64bit. When I attempt to play back You Tube videos recorded with SMPlayer I get the following message: MPlayer has finished unexpectedly. Exit Code:1.
The log report is as follows:-

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: preinit_libvo
ID_SIGNAL=11
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and
disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

All double dutch to me I'm afraid.
Can anyone help me to cure the problem please using not too technical terminology?

I'm not sure, but try selecting another video output in preferences -> general -> video.

Thanks rvm. Yes, videos recorded using SMPlayer can be played back on Windows Media Player also VLC and probably many other programs. I'm at a loss to know why MPlayer won't play back however. Perhaps it should be re-named SMRecorder. There is not much to be said for it if it will only do half a job.

Did you try what I said?
According to the log mplayer crashes on the initialization of the video output, so try to use another one.
MPlayer has these strange things, sometimes it crashes when it finds something unexpected. I can't fix these bugs since it's a third party application that smplayer uses.

Or try to use smplayer with mpv: http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/mpv.php

I seem to have SMPlayer working OK now thanks rvm. I tried alternative Output drivers but eventually found I had not updated the Youtube code (whatever that may be). When I did this it made all the difference. It would be handy if an update of the code was automatically carried out when one installs the Youtube browser, but there may be good reasons why this is not done. Thanks again for your advice.
