The new smtube won't have functions to download videos but you will be able add external download managers to the "open with" menu. In this video I'm using uget.

YES VERY DISAPPOINTED i used Smplayer to download you tube things
wjat do i use smplayer for -i guess to play vids on computer

ok COOL NOW i think of it i had a magic you tube and you tube enhancer and yt kept breaking the streaming or locking out stuff like h\\smplayer.

OH WOW YT player search function DEAD same message i think they quit development no home page
too bad cant search anymore but it lets you download video lists to computer to PLAY on desktop no search

Tested DESKTUBE : also now a player from YOUR play lists NO search engine it searches and dies

For what it's worth, the python-based youtube addon for XBMC/Kodi still works a treat, even still plays Vevo videos. No download or conversion features, though.

Seems like this new SMTube version needs libqtwebkit-dev as a build-depend on Linux Debian-based distros, though.

just tried new smplayer FOR GETTING it out SO QUICK and 1 gen its ACTUALLY VERY GOOD!!
i can vew on desktop again
which is #1 even if i cant go to you tube or donwnlad right now it really has a full feature set up until downloads and view on desktop is put back
I DO LIKE the skins!! im glad i can choose dark

this be 4/5 for ME!!
any plans for log in to your play lists like desk tube so i can play my favorites or my lists right in smplayer
that would be awesome!
IF deskrube or Ytplayer or atube dont get fixed this my NEW #1

once open log in
select my channel from YOU TUBE === drop down
then play or play on smplayer
