Youtube Server

I have not recorded a youtube video for some time now. Today I tried and got this message when I cliked the youtube browser icon :

! - Error: Could not connect to Youtube server.

My internet connection is working fine in all other apps and I am able to go directly to youtube in IE or Firefox. I cliked the update youtube icon and I also can view the youtube video by putting the url via Open>URL box. I have been using SMPlayer Version 14.9.0.6690.

open your SM tube which opens ton vid can you play anything there
or Right click OPEN WITH smplayer or wmp?

are you using newest smplayer sm tube?

Thx for reply. I have now installed smtube version: 15.5.17 (64-bit), I no longer get the error and videos play. However, I cannot seem to locate the 'record video' and 'record audio' features. Used to be there when you put the cursor on desired video and r-clik menu. Where to find these?

yes well the record was removed bc the old SMTUBE as well as of ALL softwares were killed by new you tube
you need set up new SM TUBE


NEXT to dl video u need to get a separate downloader
uget listed there and uGET and atube catcher it expplains how set it up

note MAY have adaware so u might need run malware bytes and the other thread says i used atube catcher which also broke the new one was was marked w viruses
so its up to you easiest for you might be tyhe uget from RVM and use zip version be done w it make sure you have or

OK - I've missed the party.

I just noticed that when I invoke SMPlayer and then 'Youtube Browser' the browser appears, videos play BUT - these are not youtube videos. I just noticed the url box and the browser does not go to youtube.com. It goes somewhere called tonvid. What is this? AND when I navigate to youtube by typing youtube.com in the url box, I am told I need the latest Adobe Flash (which I have) OR some HTML-thingy in order to play the videos.

Something serious has happened to this tool. When I first learned of this player it's one and only purpose for me was the ability to record ANY internet audio and video, which it did admirably. I'm lost ...

4 ONCE set you car RIGHT click the videos url or green area in TON VID it ask OPEN WITH u can select smplayer wmp or any you wish WITHOUT opening browser to watch
same with recording right click video url OPEN WITH uget

Yes, 'cootmaster', sorry - and thx for informative reply.

I have always been a hard-core, gui-oriented, 'push-button' type dude. I want my computer operations to be as quick/simple/painless as possible. I've got places to go, things to do, end-of-life is getting ever-nearer by the nan-second.

Some minimal foolin' around with uGet seems be fulfilling all of my internet a/v recording requirements. And if that fails down-the-road, there is always the reliable Firefox Downloader that I use as last resort. I'll be saying aloha to SMPlayer, but will continue to 'check in' and see how things are moving along.

sure u can launch the firefox then use firelox plug to download
like unplug or download helper net video hunter i posted it in thread too

1 INSTALL NET VIDEO HUNTER UNPLUG OR DOWNLOAD HELPER in firefox add ons
2 SEARCH FOR FILE W SMTUBE/SMPLAYER
3 R CLICK FILE OPEN WITH BROWSER
it open it in you tube in firefox
4 click the downloader you have and download as usual

of course you can set up the smtube for viewing videos WO the browser
OPEN WITH SMPLAYER or WMP so its straight on desktop
