smplayer run slower

Ok, I finally noticed an increment of CPU usage in Windows (using mpv) when setting the volume to 0. It seems to happen when the audio equalizer and software volume control are both enabled.

well, i just upgraded to latest the other day,
it used to be when playing a playlist, when switching from one video to next,
there might be 1-4 second GUI responsiveness freezeout with CPU spike from time to time,
to where you couldn't resize, change volume, next previous ....
if you hitfullscreen, no response, then 1-4 seconds later it would do it
(this in addition to regular 1-3 second delay before switching videos)

now its up to 22seconds, basically its impossible to use smplayer
i can't fast forward, i can't go next,
... i used to use 1min to jump through 4-10 vids to see if I want to watch them,
now 22second delay is excruciatingly painful
I switched to vlc, i'm not a fan of it, i'm used to smplayer ...

what setting do I have to switch to fix this?
feels like a "deadlock" issue between mplayer and smplayer ...

Could you send the smplayer log?

The log contains info about what smplayer is doing, so it can give a clue about your problem.

You can compress the log in a zip file.

I can't find anything in the logs that could be causing the delays.

Do you have the same problem if you use mpv instead of mplayer?

When you open a playlist (m3u or pls) in smplayer, switching to the next file in the playlist is a little bit slow because it starts a new mplayer process. If the playlist is handled by mplayer then of course it's much faster.

There's a way to pass the playlist file to mplayer (not very easy, I admit). Select Open -> URL and then type there the full path of the playlist (m3u or pls) file.
