Hi,
I do not have 'Run Mplayer in it's own window' ticked, but it always opens Mplayer in a separate window from SMPlayer anyway.
Is there a way around this?

P.S. My using Mac OS X 10.6.4

I'm afraid the mplayer -wid option doesn't work on Mac.

Ok

It would be great if you can find a way around this

as it's annoying always having the video in a separate window, plus in full screen there is no play, stop, time slider etc in mplayer's own window.

Actually I think there's a way, but it has to be implemented on a Mac.
