Smtube/Smplayer in Tahr Puppy (uses Ubuntu Tahr 14 packages) has no sound, either onboard or USB headphones. Sound works with mplayer or vlc under smtube. Pentium III DELL Inspiron 8100.

Mplayer displays 240p instead of 360p, smplayer displays the expected 360p. (I forget which laptop - maybe the 8100 or a netbook).

What needs updating to make Smtube and Smplayer work with Pulp Linux based on puppy 4.1.2 with glibc updated to 2.11?
Error message for both is "undefined symbol g_main_content_push_thread_default"

For use on Compaq Presario 1200 with 156MB memory which may not run the- newer puppies (5 series) that work with smtube.
AMD K6-2 475MHz.

mplayer uses only 27% of RAM and 7% of cpu to play a 240p flv downloaded with youtube-dl so should do 360p on here.

The 10 year old who wants it cannot manage youtube-dl. Nice laptop with JBL speakers and physical volume controls.

Smtube uses as much memory as mplayer but I can start mplayer then quit smtube.

I can do 240p at 233MHz and 96MB.
