smplayer 14.9 and saving media position

I've tried literally 50 videos I have the 2 options in preferences->general set "Remember settings for all files (audio track, subtitles...) and Remember time position, finally Store settings in "one ini file". No matter what I do every time I close and open SMplayer while the play list remains intact the video starts from 0. Under .config/smplayer I have a file smplayer_file.ini In that I have an entry for each file played, but looking at the entry:

starting_time is always 0 no matter what the time in the time line is. Every time I can an option say deblock or dering the change is never stored to this entry and when I restart the play it is lost. It appears that smplayer is never registering any changes made to th file which explains why it starts at 0, it I set starting time to say 1500 to time bar read 25 minutes, but still starts playing from 0 and then counts backwards from 25 to 0 and then resets to the correct time in the movie (in this case 25:01). It appears to be either a bug or else I'm missing something that cause smplayer to record the value, but after fighting for days I'm stuck and can not work out what is wrong. If the starting_time is non 0 then the time line does not work properly as well. I simply want smplayer to save the settings for the video on exit, and use them on startup if nothing else.

Lastly I want it locked to 1 Windows, but this appears a Windows Manager issue and not SMplayer

By default the files in the playlist start to play from the beginning. You can change it in Preferences -> Playlist, disable the option "Play files from start".
