Problem viewing video while manually advancing it forward

Postby JoeinClemmons » Wed Nov 18, 2015 12:47 am

Please forgive my lack of the proper terminology. I have been using SM Player for years. Recently switched to the newest version and found only one negative difference straight away. I can't scroll the video manually, while still seeing moving video. By scrolling, I mean taking my cursor and putting it on the control at the bottom of the video and manually moving it along from left to right, in order to advance the to where I want to be in the video. In the past, while doing this I could watch the video advance and watch what is going on in the movie (at faster speed, of course), so I would know where to stop it. Now, the video just freezes while I am advancing that control and it unfreezes only I let up on the button. It will advance me deeper into the video, but I can't watch it along the way. I hope that this makes sense to someone. Any help would be appreciated

Be sure the option "Behaviour of time slider" in Preferences -> Interface -> Seeking is set to "Seek to position while dragging".

Thank you very much! Your advice was exactly right. I had never thought to look under "Interface" when trying to correct that.
