K-Lite Codec Pack - FFDSHOW Audio Codec

Postby Hood » Fri Oct 08, 2010 11:37 pm

Hello friends, I have a problem.

I am using SM player since December last year and its real good in its use.

I have Windows XP installed on INTEL PENTIUM 4 PROCESSOR 2.8 GHZ and with 2 GB of RAM. Plus Direct X 9 complete and updated.

May I ask that if i can use the famous k-lite codec pack installed on my machine with SM player through which i can have a normalized audio output. I have added SM player along with M player in k-lite audio configuration to be applied when i play either audio or video in SM player so it can load k-lite codec pack automatically and gives me an audio output filtered through it.

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema gives a superb audio performance with k-lite codec pack loaded, but it performs so bad in playing video. very slow motion of video and even no synchronization of video with audio. it results as a gunshot is listened 5 seconds before it is seen in video. also Media Player Classic - Home Cinema takes a 100% CPU usage stopping all other processes running on computer.

SM player creates no such problems when a MKV format blu-ray rip is played in it. very good video without any clutches and slow running frames and with no 100% CPU usage (as experienced in Media Player Classic - Home Cinema ) but i want to have SM player loaded with external codec (audio only for mutil-channel mapping, normalized and a noise-free sound) provided by k-lite codec pack.

Please guide me if there is such an availability in SM player to run it -k-lite codec player FFDSHOW AUDIO DECODER.

Thank you very much.

mplayer uses its own codecs.

You can set normalization in the Preferences dialog of SMPlayer.

Perhaps there is some option that can be passed to mplayer via the "Advanced" options; there's an online manual for the command line mplayer here: http://tivo-mplayer.sourceforge.net/doc ... r-man.html

ffdshow ands mplayer are sort of related; ffdshow is the ffmpeg codecs rebuilt as Directshow filters, and mplayer contains internal versions of many ffmpeg codecs.

thank you very much for reply.

I have been there on that page. But have no idea what do I input in "advance options audio filter" in Mplayer.

there are so many typical figures and methods i dont understand. like there are [] = + - < > : and even dots

please tell me the command for volume normalization exactly which i can copy from here and paste in there options field in Mplayer.

Thanks so much.

In the settings General/Audio tab, there's a checkbox for "volume normalization by default". It can also be turned off and on for a particular video by right clicking the video and choosing "Audio--Filters--Volume normalization"
