keyboard media buttons problem

It seems your multimedia buttons use a different protocol, they are not recognized as keys by Qt. That makes thing complicated. I'll try to find a solution.

Pause is not critical! Though convenient. Most importantly, the switch works! For this you very much.

I've uploaded a new version (7782). This will probably fix the crash but I don't know if the keys would work correctly.

When you press the button to pause the media, the buttons on the player changes the picture, but the video does not stop. If you press the mouse button, it works.

I uploaded a new version (7783). With this version the multimedia keys should work ok when smplayer has the focus. However the play and pause keys (and maybe others) may not work when smplayer is in the background. It seems in some keyboards those keys aren't sent as normal keystrokes and smplayer can't grab them.

Does the rest of multimedia keys work correctly?

Yes, switching back and forth songs works fine. I hooked up another keyboard with the media keys - defender bern 795. There, too, switching back and forth running and pause does not work. I have just tried the release 7788 and Global shortcuts do work however there are a few issues. Firstly the play/pause keyboard key on my keyboard gets "taken" as you can see the icon in SMPlayer changing however, the clip doesn't actually play/pause. Secondly, the Stop key on the keyboard works but when I try to resume with the play button on the keyboard it again changes the icon but without actually making the clip play. Skip song and previous song both work properly.
The little explorer annoyance I mentioned is still here.
