Slider of seekbar not moving on pause

Postby colibris79 » Thu Jun 09, 2016 2:04 am

Hi,
Slider of the seekbar works fine with the keyboard shortcuts while the file is playing, but if I pause it and try to go back and forward the slider won't move. It will move accordingly to the keys I just pressed after I start playing the file again. Is this the expected behavior? Any way to make the slider move while on pause? This is very useful for me that I translate and transcript documents so I can pause the file, go back or forward and see exactly where I can start playing again.
I have tried to change the settings in "Seeking" but the slider won't move while on pause

I can't reproduce this problem. For me the slider moves on pause :?

Maybe you should give more info, like the operating system you're using and whether you're using mplayer or mpv.

You're right. Sorry I forgot.
It only happens with mpv (I use it because of the extra features and I can increase the volume more than with mplayer).
Using Linux Ming 17.3 (Ubuntu 14.04) Smplayer 16.4

The slider isn't updated when pressing the keys to go forward or backward, is that what you mean?

That's it. It doesn't update while on pause. It updates after I resume playing. It only happens under mpv

I think this happens because mpv doesn't report the new position until the playback is resumed.

In that case is that supposed to work like this? In my mpv-player the bar changes while I seek back or forward on pause

I was wrong. mpv does report the new position by smplayer ignores the info on pause. I'll try to fix it.

More about the seekbar...
If you use mplayer instead of mplayer2, you can pause the playback, but if you use the shortcuts to search back or forward it won't remain in pause (it will continue playing). This happens with both 16.4 and the new one 16.6

Another different thing with 16.6 when playing audio files with mplayer the image displayed is not the usual Smplayer with black background, it gets like and image of whatever is in the desktop and keeps it both in window and full screen. This happens with mplayer2 and mpv as well. I send you a screenshot of Smplayer playing an audio file on full screen.
The numpad shortcuts are not working either. Remembering size and position I think is not working like in the previous version
