Some choppiness in video playback

Postby newuser101 » Thu Oct 06, 2016 4:50 am

rvm:

Just a general question: have the hardware requirements for playing videos without choppiness been changed? Recently I have seen some choppiness (and dropped frames) in videos that used to play smoothly. I just wonder if MPV has changed so that it requires more powerful hardware than a few months ago.

Thanks!

The version of mpv included in the smplayer packages for Windows hasn't changed for months, it's still the old version 0.11. You can get newer versions (I think the latest version is 0.20) from here: https://mpv.srsfckn.biz/

Thanks. I'll check it out, but it's probably an issue with my old machine.
