disable server / enable multiple instances

Hello!

I want SMPlayer start another instance when a new video is opened, rather than reuse an already running instance.

I've read the man page, and have tried the "-disable-server" command line option, but it has no effect. How can the behaviour, which I prefer, be accomplished?
