403 Forbidden on some youtube videos

Postby slackhead » Tue Jan 31, 2017 8:08 pm

If I try to play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On7BnzcEwKA on the youtube website it plays.
But when I try to open it in smtube/smplayer I get a 403 Forbidden popup.

I noticed this with maybe four or five videos that I searched for in smtube.

I've just updated to the latest smplayer and smtube and updated youtube code, but the problem persists.

Yes, I've just noticed.

Quick workaround (for smplayer): in preferences -> network, select mpv+youtube-dl for "support for video sites", and update youtube-dl, they already fixed the problem.

I think it's fixed in r8406.

I've just updated to smplayer 17.2.0 and smtube 17.1.0 and now no youtube videos play at all, or least the first 10 or so I tried.

Weird, it works for me. Please send the smplayer log after trying to play a youtube video.

OK this is solved by changing the network settings for youtube.
